By Tara Kuther, Ph.D., About.com

Question: What Do Teachers Earn?
Answer: Depending on the state, public school teachers can earn anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000. The average salary of a teacher in 2001-2002 was $44,367. Private school teachers, however, earn, on average, less than two-thirds of a public school teacher’s salary. For further information on teacher salaries visit National Education Association.
