Many graduate school applicants consider contacting faculty at programs they find interesting. Is it a good idea to contact faculty as you apply to grad school? Professors have diverse perspectives on applicant email, ranging from very negative to positive, depending on circumstances. If you decide to email a professor, take care to ensure that you are doing so for a legitimate reason and that your email is professional.
