Learn Well by Knowing Yourself

Wednesday August 19, 2009

We don't all learn in the same way. Some of us learn best by listening, others are more visual. Part of doing well in grad school, aside from doing the work, is figuring how to take it all in efficiently. It is not simply a matter of how much you study, but how well. Study more efficiently by knowing your learning style -- how you learn.

Hello Dr. Kuther,
You hit the nail on the head with the knowing yourself article. I have a question that I need a really honest answer to. I know myself very well that I am unable to undergo the MCAT prep for medical school in the US universities but I can handle med school…how else can one get into med school without mcat or with a not up to par mcat score. Is there such school that will not required mcat scores?? Thank you for your time!

That is great advice for grad students. Over at GradShare there are a bunch of discussions about maintaining a work-life balance while in Grad School. Here’s a good example: http://www.gradshare.com/question.html?id=19. Come check it out.
