You Missed Class: What Do You Do?

Monday December 8, 2008
Regardless of how good a student you are, how detail-oriented, hard working, or diligent, you can be certain that you will miss a class at some point in your academic career. And likely many more than one. How do minimize the impact of a missed class on your grade and your relationship with your professor?

Hi,
I am a grandmother (retired RN) back again for a degree in education. Last year I not only missed classes by the day but by the weeks due to 3 surgeries.I have always maintained a good working relationship with my instructors and fellow students so I have an open line to retrieve any notes or assignments. I have always used my syllabi to the fullest and any other student help offered including my academic counselor asa go-between. Yoursyllabus usually has an assignment page with start and due dates. Most professors are willing to help on make-up by your attendance in another of their same classes. With all that and a study group there’s practically no way to STAY behind. Besides, staying ahead from th beginningmakes for a stress free term. GOOD LUCK
