Writing Your Statement of Teaching Philosophy

Regardless of whether you are a TA or instructor, grad student or faculty member, writing a statement of teaching philosophy is important for your professional development. What makes for good teaching? What works in a classroom? What do you do - how do you teach - and what are your reasons? Also note that if you're applying for a faculty position, be prepared to send your statement of teaching philosophy because professors' roles as teachers are increasingly important in academia.
