Don't Write a Poor Letter of Recommendation

Writing a recommendation letter for one of your students? Most graduate students who teach will be asked to write on behalf of one or more of their students. We've talked about what goes into a helpful letter of recommendation. But what makes a recommendation letter poor? What should instructors who write letters of recommendation avoid?
